History of the Department:

The Department of Computer Science in Government Degree College, Gajapathinagaram, Vizianagaram district originated in the year 2019. B.Com and B.Sc are the two groups allotted with the Computer Science course in affiliation to Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. The college expanded its services over the years by expanding the academic offerings. Initially the college is established with a vision to provide quality education by some limited groups. Later the college infrastructure is developed a higher learning cornerstone in the area. The computer science department is operated with a well equipped computer lab.

The Computer Science Department is started with a regular faculty Mrs. Sharmila appointed in 2023. Later on the further requirement the college appointed a guest faculty Mrs. D. Satya Lavanya recruited on 03/09/2024.
