Brief history of the department:
The department of Chemistry, Government Degree College , Gjapathinagaram, Vizianagaram District was established in the year 2019 as a result of sanction of science sections having M.P.C (Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry) and B.Z.C (Botany, Zoology and Chemistry). It is affiliated to Andhra University, Visakhapatnam.The department was run by partial deputation of faculty from other degree colleges and also by guest faculty.
The Department has started with sanctioning of two posts in the year 2023.
Dr.D.Santhi Priya was appointed as lecturer with 21 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Smt.L.Sureedamma was appointed as lecturer in chemistry as guest faculty in October 2025 with 5 years of Experience.
